Formed on October 29, 2004, M. Cahill & Company specializes in the buying, selling & purveying of Rare Coins, Fine Art, Collectibles, Jewelry, Medals, Philately, Exonumia & Ephemera. We also have Engraving facilities on the premises & will serve you with your giftware & jewelry engraving needs!
Mr. Cahill received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Alabama, a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Rutgers University, and pursued graduate studies in Museology at Princeton. He is a Certified Diamontologist(Diamond Council of America), and a Life Member (#5695) of the American Numismatic Association. An avid coin collector since the age of seven, and after many years in the jewelry business, Mr. Cahill decided to incorporate his hobby into his business avocation. Mr. Cahill has also had the distinction of working with numerous Gemologists & Graduate Gemologists of the Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A.), as well as Jewelers, Craftsmen, Artisans, World-reknowned Artists, Painters, Printmakers, Sculptors & Poets(& even a Poet-Laureate)! Married to Kay (for 27 years), they reside in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, and have one Grand-Daughter- "Hannah", five loving Cocker Spaniel Dogs-"Cameron","Patches","Muffin" ,"Buttons", & "Ginger"; two cats- "CC" & "Midnight", two birds (one white dove)- "Sanctus", & (one Quaker Parrot)- "Polyanna"; and an aquarium of other "would-be" family members!
In June, 2004, Kay was the recipient of an organ donation- a new liver & a second chance at life! She had her transplantation surgery performed at UAB Hospital by Dr. Devin Eckhoff, and she has since recovered remarkably well. Special Thanks to all of UAB's "Liver Team" (especially Dr. Steve Bynon, Dr. Brendan McGuire, Dr. Stephen King, Dr. Miguel Arguedas, Dr. Beverly Bush, Dr. Robert J. Cerfolio, Dr. Veradarajulu, Beth Comeaux and all of the nurses & staff in the SICU unit & of Spain Rehabilitation Center). Many thanks also to the Staff of St. Vincent's Hospital (especially Dr. Richard T. McGlaughlin, Dr. Gary Mollengarden & Dr. Daniel Michael), during her stay there, and to all of those who aided in her recovery process... for your kindness, thoughts & prayers! M. Cahill & Company now takes every opportunity to encourage organ donation! We have ALWAYS offered Portraits! Since 1969, M. Cahill has been proficient in oil portraiture with approximately 300 Oil Portraits completed, as well as several thousand paintings, drawings sculptures & prints. A similar "Double Portrait" as the one depicted- (48" X 62"), framed, is $4,495.00. The time involved in production is approximately four (4) months. Single portraits are as follows (unframed): 16" X 20" - $995.00, 20" X 24" - $1195.00, 24" X 30" - $1595.00. Other sizes available- Please inquire! (Time involved in actual production varies).
